Subj: [kl] G#/C# right hand key

Paul Covey, from my personal knowledge, will do a lot
of custom things for instruments. My point is that an
oboe or english horn ALREADY HAVE this mechanism, and
it could probably be adjusted to a clarinet easier
than making a new key out of the blue. The key would
attach to the G#/C# mechanism and open it when the kep
was engaged, but then would close when the right hand
fingers were down, with a mechanism similar to an
articulated G#/C# on clarinets for the LEFT side.

I'm not sure who Tom Hiniker is, and haven't heard of
him from my years in Atlanta, nor afterward. Does he
MAKE instruments?

Paul Covey MAKES instruments of his own design, and
does custom oboe work, so I can't imagine why he
wouldn't be available (or someone in his shop, for
that matter) to add an alternate key to the G#/C#,
which would NOT add another hole, but just another
opening mechanism for the instrument with an added
key. The oboe or english horn key would already ne
created and molded, and would just have to be added to
the already existing mechanism.

By the way, Paul will do an overhaul on a student line
oboe. He doesn't only work on premium or professional
instruments.
