Kelly, in defense of Noblets, please do not tell that to my teacher, Helen
Goode-Castro, who regularly plays with the LA Phil, the LA Chamber Orchestra,
and the Riverside (CA) Symphony in addition to occassional studio gigs in Los
Angeles. Several months ago, Helen "borrowed" my "intermediate" Noblet C for
her San Francisco Opera orchestra audition (she also has the clarinet studio
at Cal State Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County School for the Arts plus
several students at Cal State Long Beach and UCLA). Before her audition, she
got a "second opinion" from Michelle Zukovsky who commented that the
instrument was definitely professional caliber. Of course, so is Helen!

p.s. Also don't tell Mitchell Lurie and Bob Gilbert who bought a "lot" of
Noblet and Normandy! C clarinets from the Pomona Unified School district a
few years ago to resell from Bob's store in Los Angeles. I believe that Ben
Maas also plays on a Noblet C clarinet as to several other "professional"
players on the list.
