I do so in both sorts of orchestra, on both sorts of instrument.
Whenever the part is written in C, I use a C clarinet -- except the
other day when I'd forgotten to bring one, so I transposed.

Hi!

I'm not a regular member of a non-period symphony orchestra at the
moment, only guesting when I play in modern orchestras, so perhaps I
don't count.

But I can't think why not.
