I'll try to help. Current Selmer models include:
Plastic: CL300 (.573 bore and brushed finish so it LOOKS like wood), 1400
(.590 bore and straight, not undercut, tone holes -- not recommended for
your situation). The 1401 (.577 bore) has recently been dropped, but may
still be available. All of these have nickel-plated keys.

Wood: 103 (basically the same as the older Signet) (.577 bore), CL200
(.573 bore), CL210 (same as CL200 but adds adjustable thumbrest,
silver-plated keys, Selmer Paris mouthpiece, better case), CL220 (same, but
GOLD-plated keys). Selmer USA Omega model may also be available. It comes
in .573 and .577 bores, has an engraved wood bell, but is otherwise similar
to CL220.

Selmer Paris models (all wood) include the Series 10G (designed in
conjunction with Anthony Gigliotti, .574 bore, suited for orchestral
playing (according to the blurb), has adjustable thumbrest, silver-plated
keys, Gigliotti mouthpiece), Recital (.563 bore and thicker body (blurb
claims warmer, darker tone), Selmer Paris mouthpiece, otherwise as above),
Series 10S II (.567 bore, standard wall, otherwise as above -- touted for
general all-around playing). There is also a Prologue model, similar to
the 10S II but with fixed thumbrest, and an Omega Paris that is a variation
of the Prologue (NOT to be confused with the Omega USA model -- it is
clearly marked).

What you choose may depend on your pocketbook as much as their sound, but
go with a Paris model if you can. Also try as many as you can before
deciding. Happy hunting!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
