Thanks for the "plug" Lucienne. I do appreciate it. A few comments. All mouthpiece "craftsmen" work from maunufactured blanks. Few of us want to pour molten rubber into molds (let alone put up with the "fumes". I don't think our neighbors would appreciate it either.)

Many craftsmen have their own "molds" at the manufacturers, from a model that they have designed themselves.

There is much more to mouthpiece work than the facing. Actually, the facing is the easiest part. I also work on the baffle, especially right below the tip rail, as well as the point that the baffle meets the "chamber" or "bore" of the mouthpiece. Also the thickness of the tip rail is inspected and adjusted, as well as the width of the window.

These and other areas can make or break a mouthpiece.
