Thanks for your comments about making "Shepherd on the Rock" work with a =
mezzo soprano voice. Right now I'm considering scanning the entire =
piece into my music notation program (Smart Score) and then transposing =
it down a minor third. That would put the voice and piano parts in G =
major. The clarinet part would be transposed for A clarinet, putting it =
into Bb major; lowest clarinet note called for would be the low E.
If the preceding proves to be too time consuming or otherwise =
unworkable, I'd like to ask if anyone knows of any other chamber music =
pieces for voice, clarinet and piano that could be done with a mezzo =
soprano who does not go any higher than G (top of the treble clef =
staff). This woman is such a fine musician that I just have to come up =
with something that we can work on together.
