Maybe someone could write a few pages on the pros and
cons of the major brands (non-biased - just the
features...LOL) so that there is a listing of the
different brands, and how the features compare, as
well as the round-about prices for models all in a
chart to compare with a checklist, like car
comparisons. This could be updated by someone
regularly for brand, model, and price, and the link
could maybe have a guest book under it with comments
from Klarinet people for their opinions. There could
be a link on the sneezy website, as a resource,
instead of fishing through the archives for opinions,
instead of hard feature facts of the instruments.

A new student searching the archives would find 300+
messages saying "MY brand is the best!" with no
particular reason involved, and 3 messages with actual
pros and cons of different brands and models. Not good
odds, which is why I think MANY people, even ones who
have been on the list for a while, re-ask this
question.

This, of course, would be a big undertaking, which I
would commit to, if you think it is worth the time to
have a list like that to refer people to who are new
and buying instruments. Anyone else is welcome to it
also... Actually, I think a lot of us would find it
helpful, since none of the brands really give a key -
by - key comparison of what features and price each
model has, except in comparison to other models within
their own brand.

Thoughts anyone?
