Dear List Friends,

I seem to need a lot of advice these days...

Following is a list of candidates for the position of Musical Director of an
orchestra in which I used to play. The orchestra is semi-regional with a
budget of some $500,000, drawing players from a radius of 120 miles. All
players are on a per-service contract. Literature performed includes most of
the major biggies.

By way of assisting those who still perform, I am asking for your input
concerning the attributes of these conductors from a clarinetist's
point-of-view. Any and all responses would be welcomed! Feel free to email
