Right! And we've been playing that very same note in the previous seven
measures, but probably closer to the equal tempered pitch and in unison
with the violas. The violas have probably been playing that note closer
to "just" during those measures and quietly cursing the clarinetist who
is "sharp." Then, in the final measure, the violas just pizz and the
horns and bassoons and clarinets are left holding. The bassoons and
horns are on open fifths. Yikes.
