Robyn, I am not offering an opinion about Buffet or any other instrument
maker. I only want to say that Paul's statement is an excellent
example of why an old instrument might be _better_ (in your opinion)
than a new instrument.

To use myself as an example, I chose an older design even though the
newer bores were touted as "the best thing." For some people, the
newer designs are more pleasing. But not for me. This is what really
counts: after you play an assortment of instruments (reeds, mouthpieces,
ligatures, barrels, bells, etc), what do _you_ like? Since your
anatomy and nervous system aren't the same as mine, it's unlikely that
my instrument will work the best for you.

....but you've probably heard this sermon before....
