Jeroen,

I have had a Wiseman Quad Trough case since Feb, and I
love it! I can put my Eb, C, Bb, and A in there all at
the same time. The case is compact, but very durable,
although I do baby it a little, since I don't want to
scuff the leather too much. The trough type case
doesn't have molded inserts, but has heavy, crushed
velvet dividers to make 3 troughs in each side.
Putting the main part of the instruments in the sides
and the bells, barrels, and mouthpieces in the middle
makes for a tight fit, but the keys do not seem to
bend from the tightness. The sheet music holder is
really winderful, and will hold the large full sized
orchestral parts without having to fold them...this is
a really wonderful feature I haven't found on other
cases. The outer shape of my case is a cylinder and
has rubber feet on both ends, which makes it a GREAT
impromptu seat when getting off a plane and waiting
for the other luggage. Lastly, the velcro closures are
VERY secure, even if I was a little scared at first
having four instruments in a velcro locked case. There
is a leather band with a leather fanny pack type case
on it to keep reeds, metronome, tuner and screwdrivers
in for convenience. The leather band is like a belt,
and gives more stability to keeping the case closed.

My next case from Wiseman is coming next week. Howard
(Wiseman) sent me an e-mail saying it was done this
morning. It is a special made case to hold my flute,
oboe, soprano sax, and english horn. I can't wait to
get rid of all of those cases! What will I do with all
of the room? Ah, nevermind...I live in Manhattan...I
don't HAVE any room! LOL

I would readily recommend these cases to anyone. It is
especially good for people who play mor than one
instrument, whether that be oboe and clarinet, or Eb,
Bb, and A clarinet, or other combinations. The bass
clarinet case with room for the Bb and A clarinet in
it is wonderful, I have heard. The bassoon cases from
Wiseman are VERY popular. Howard (Wiseman) is also
very interested in making a case to suit your
particular needs. If you want something special, just
ask, and if he can do it, he will. The cases are made
custom by hand anyway, so the adaptations aren't as
much of a problem as it would be if the cases were
made in bulk by a machine.

The molded cases, by the way, are also VERY nice, but
hold less instruments (either one or two.) They have
molded fittings like the regular cases, and are very
secure. I might have gotten one of those if I didn't
need the slots for more instruments. If you can get to
see some of these cases to do a comparison, it would
probably help you decide which type to get. The
Wiseman Case Co should be at ClarinetFest in Stockholm
in July, if you can wait that long to see them, or if
you are in New York City, feel free to contact me to
see my case. Howard Wiseman should have LOTS of
different models to choose from at the conference,
although they will still be taking orders for custom
cases for after the conference (the samples are
usually presold, or sell in the first hour of him
being there, but are kept for the whole conference for
display.)

Good luck in your decision!
