I'm not sure who wrote the text below, but I think it is a valid question to
ask if he is even a produgy at clarinet.

Now before everyone starts throwing tomatoes at me, let me explain.

I have been to the web site of the university where he attends and read all
the articles and listened to his radio interview as well as his playing.

I do find it remarkable that someone of four years old would be so singly
minded on playing any instrument, not just clarinet.

If we take into account that he has now been playing clarinet almost eight
years, give or take, is his level of proficiency really remarkable compared
to any other talented student with that same number of years of experience,
regardless of age?

If you take the age factor out of the equation, I simply find that he is a
really good clarinetist among many good clarinetist, his one defining factor
being his age.

I think his real talent lies in his ability to focus on a single thing over
a long period of time and master it.

Again, this is only my opinion, and is not meant to belittle any
accomplishments that he has made, as remarkable as they seem for someone so
young.

I do think he has a driving passion that is very unusual in someone so
young. Would he have been as successful if it would have been channeled
another direction? I personally think it would have.
