Yes, that _is_ what you said. I heard it on the instrument, and I
understood the thought. (and just so people here don't get the wrong
idea, you walked a nice straight line from the car to the motel's front
door.)

My comment was that I myself can't accomplish the same effect of "moving
the problem around" with mouthshape and embouchure. And therefore
equipment is probably more significant to novices such as myself than it
is to proficient musicians.

This was equally as obvious when you played the low E for the first
time, winced, and then brought it under control.

I understand that a good instrument is important to anyone, of course,
regardless of skill level. It's just a matter of degree.
