Rachel--

I have been playing on Gregory smith mouthpieces since 1996-97. I use a
Rovner ligature with Vandoren 3 1/2 or 4 V12s. Please be aware that greg
Smith's mouthpieces play better with the 3 1/2s, but the actual reed will
vary. I have had individual v12 4 reeds that have responded better, but
they are far and few between.

Not related to your specific question, but important to note is that Greg
Smith mouthpieces are pretty consistent mouthpiece to mouthpiece. My
orginal mouthpieces (2) were lost when my clarinets were stolen in January
2001. My replacement mouthpieces play as well as the first set--if not
better.

I use a Gregory Smith mouthpiece, and he recommends that I use the
V12s... I was an only-Mitchell Lurie girl but I like the V12s... Does
anyone else play a Gregory Smith? If you do, what reed and ligature do
you use? Thanks!
