Lately, it seems that my clarinet is very out of tune. I have tried
adjusting my embouchure, reeds and mouthpieces to no avail. Would a
tuning barrel be the answer?

The first step is to have your clarinet checked out by a competent
technician. If your horn has been in tune for a long time, in your
opinion, but now it isn't, it is hard to imagine that the barrel is to
blame. If anything is wrong with the instrument, it's more likely that
various screws, rods, pads, corks, etc need repair or adjustment.

Some technicians are also competent players. He or she may see
something in your playing which needs attention.

Cheers,
Bill
