Hi Jim,

Thanks so much for the concert update and the great
news of the Vienna Philharmonic having five women in the
ranks! What are the clarinetists names?

Speaking of concerts, Eddie Daniels will be at the
Jazz Bakery (www.jazzbakery.org) in Culver City, California
the week of March 24th. Looks like my husband and I
will be visiting his daughter in L.A. that week and will get
to go. We have been checking the local symphony
and opera web pages for other concerts to attend with not
much luck.

Can any Californian clarinetists make any suggestions for
concerts from March 25-29th around L.A?

Thanks!
Lori Lovato

Those of us in Orange County, CA were blessed this week with three concerts
by the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Bernard Haitink. Monday night
featured a glorious Bruckner 8th. Tuesday the orchestra played Mozart
"Haffner" Symphony, Berg's "Three Pieces", and a wonderful Schubert 9th.
Tonight (yes, I went to all three concerts) was Brahms "Haydn (Pleyel?)
Variations", Haydn "Symphony No.101" and
"Don Quixote" by Richard Strauss.
