I used Mitchell Lurie's for my entire clarinet life, and I finally
switched to Vandoren's this year, my first year in college. I was on a
ML 4.5 and I went to Vandoren 3's and then 3.5's... I just used my reed
trimmer on those that were too soft and really worked the harder ones...
it took some getting used to, but after a while I found that I like that
better than just popping one out of the box. Working the reeds more
gives them more of a custom feel and once you get used to it it doesn't
take long to know how you want them... I'd go with Vandoren's.... good
luck!
