Somehow i missed the original message that started this thread. I was
hoping someone would recap what misprints they were talking about. But so
far, no one has.

Could someone please detail the errors? I looked through my IMC edition and
can't find anything that looks like it's twice as slow as the rest of the
music. :-/

Dear Daniel

as it was me who started this thread I think it is up to me to answer your
question. The original question was<<

in the third one of strawinsky's three pieces in my edition is written one
4/16 bar. the notes are however 16th-16th-eighth eighth-eighth, being
f-sharp, e d, c (stacc) d (stacc). It is the 19th bar, counting from the
back.

obviously something is wrong. I play this bar as written, not heeding the
4/16 indication. my teacher told me she plays the last two notes as if they
were 16th notes - which is more obvious - but even then something is wrong.
she has the same edition I have (chester), and apparently her teacher from
the conservatory played it that way, at least he obviously never noticed
anything strange.

Could someone help us?

In the mean time I think the answer has been given by many on this list. I
want to thank them all. Tomorrow I'll see my teacher again and show her the
answers given. Apparently there is a small majority for playing the notes at
double speed compared to what was written. My personal preference is to play
the bar her way: two sixteenths, one eighth, two sixteenths, but we will
consider all possibilities.
