I wish you all started this conversation LAST week.

I just received a Buffet replacement case for my R13 and I should of know
they really changed the case,in many ways, when the replacement Buffet case
cover I ordered in February was completely different from the case cover
from the 1970's. I have.

The clarinet case is smaller with less storage space and the clarinet pieces
did not lie in the case as deep as the old. I hope that will not case harm
to the keys over time. Material seems cheaper, like a recycled type of
material, where the old case, you can tell it is made from wood. The
handled is not as good as the original case. I will say, they did improve
the latches. I did get the French style. I am glad I have the new cover to
go with the new case, since the handle will not last long and probably can't
be replaced, but then, I can take Tom's suggestion for a new case in the
near future. Maybe, if I didn't have an original Buffet case, I wouldn't be
so hard on this new and improved model, but I feel the old case and cover,
was far superior in workmanship.

Oh well, it will be okay in the end, but I will miss the quality of the old
Buffet case. Hey, they even took out the saying inside the case on the
fabric with the Buffet name on it! It was "The sweetest clarinet ever
made". LOL! Never understood that on the label, but it was okay!
