It is common to use saxophone style and thickness pads in some
bass clarinets. Bundy (now Selmer USA), for sure, uses
saxophone type pads. It was designed that way. Vitos often
come with goldbeater skin type pads. The large ones tend to
swell and distort in the center. If one wants a Vito bass
clarinet, pay the few extra dollars and get it with the
leather pads.
