Dear List Friends,
Julie Giacobassi, English hornist with the San Francisco Symphony, has
recently started a "Clearing House/Publishing" company called Fish Creek
Music (www.fishcreekmusic.com). Naturally, its main constituency will be
English horn and oboe players, but there may be others who would be
interested in her work.
She was kind enough to send me a sample of her most recent accomplishment: a
transcription of J.S. Bach's six unaccompanied Suites for Cello, for English
Horn. After a sight-reading perusal, I find that they are great for
clarinet. I think they would be fine for the other clarinets and all of the
saxophones as well.
In her words, "Use the Suites daily for warm-ups, for improving your English
horn (clarinet, saxophone (my words :-))) skills, and most of all, for
enriching your musical soul."
Kent
