Subj: [kl] Krommer Concerto for Two Clarinets & Orchestra, Opus 91
Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2002 02:46:26 -0500

On Sunday afternoon, March 17, I will have the pleasure of performing Franz
Krommer's Concerto for Two Clarinets & Orchestra, Opus 91, with the Glendale
(California) College Orchestra. While there is considerable historical
information available on Krommer and his works for clarinet, I would be very
helpful (for program notes) if members of the list could share some insight
as to where and when the concerto has been performed, especially in the US.
We don't think it's been performed all that frequently.

Thanks for your help!

Don Gross
La Canada, California

p.s. We obtained the Andre parts (soloists and orchestra) from the ICA
library at the University of Maryland library. However, because there was no
score -- only a manuscript piano reduction -- a clarinetist friend who is a
real "artist" when it comes to using Sibelius, entered all the original parts
and built a "real" score which for which our orchestra director will be
forever indebted. Needless to say, the members of the orchestra are also
very happy, as are the soloists who now have two-stave solo parts.
