Hi Tony,

I am so sorry about the trouble with your clarinets! You certainly gave the
audience no cause for alarm; it must have taken all the will power in the
world not to shout a few well-chosen expletives over your incredible
misfortune. I hope more complete repairs have been possible?!

No, that wasn't me shouting; I generally whistle, and my wife and I were
sitting in front of the stage about 2/3 of the way back, stage left. After
the concert, I wasn't sure we'd be allowed backstage, so we just followed
the crowd out of the hall. Sorry about not meeting you; even sorrier when I
consider the prospect of one or more beers with you.

Perhaps another time...
