Hi there, I am new to the list and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Amy and I have recently (in the past few months) taken up serious study of the clarinet again after being a rather sporadic player for over ten years. Before that I played throughout school (elementary-high school and a bit beyond)quite seriously. I had planned on being a music major in college, but sort of chickened out and opted for art instead (performance anxiety!)...

Anyway. I got a job at a university concert hall in the fall and ever since really wanted to persue music again. So now I play in the university's symphony orchestra and began study with a wonderful teacher, John Fullam, who is the Principal clarinet in the Buffalo Philharmonic. I would eventually like to play semi-professionally or who knows?

I just really love playing every day again and finding a real direction in my music.

I have a question: does anyone know how a musician finds work doing music for TV or film? Are whole orchestras hired for such things, or individual musicians? I'm curious.

Look forward to your responses. :)

Best,

Amy
