Mike, you wrote:

I have a question, about air escaping from my lips on the mouth piece.
It can be from top, bottom, side, but as I play more during my practice it
seems to go away. Plus the top of the mouthpiece, is pretty wet from
saliva, that goes away as the air leaks stop.

Patricia:

It sounds as if you need to warm up a bit more before beginning your
technical exercises. I suggest asking your teacher to write out a set of
long tone exercises. Or, there are some online at
http://www.ocr.sneezy.org/articles/labadorf1.html. I would suggest starting
with the lower octave, if you are a beginner.
The best thing to do, however, is to find a good teacher. Even if you can
only get a lesson every two weeks, you will find your progress will be much
more rapid.
