Off the list, I have had an enquiry about Philipp Dreisbach
(1981-1980). Does any one have any recollections of him?
What instruments did he play?

I have some of his recordings, so I know what he
sounds like (playing with a slight vibrato) and
have gleamed some facts from Pamela Weston's
books. Dreisbach's widow Margot, may be still
alive. He was a friend of Hindemith and
Hindemith's Quintet Op 30 was dedicated to him.

Otto Hermann was a pupil of Dreisbach.
He was Sabine Meyer's second clarinet
teacher, after her father. Hans Deinzer was
a student of Hans Gall and Gall (1907-1962)
studied with Dreisbach. Suzanne Stevens
had a few lessons with Dreisbach in his 80s.

Thanks
MB
