Michael Collins was interviewed on BBC radio 4 recently and talked about his
experience of having a newish clarinet split in, I think, an overheated BBC
studio. He was able to summon a technician to the studio for roadside
repair which if my memory serves correctly was pooring superglue in cracks
to seal it. Later he had it pinned and said that the instrument was better
with the repaired split than before.
