I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Left-handers are almost never
as dependent on being left-handed as right-handers are at being
right-handed. Living in a Righty world forces most Lefties to be more
ambidextrous than one-handed. I write, eat, shoot (due to left eye
dominance), bowl, underhand pitch and throw a Frisbee Lefty. But I hit,
catch, throw overhand, golf, use scissors and do other stuff Righty. Those
things I do Right-handed are probably because of the equipment involved
usually doesn't come Left-handed (especially to a kid). So, I know no other
way. I CAN'T throw overhand, golf, hit, etc. Left handed. I just don't
work. It lets me use a screwdriver or saw or hammer with either hand.
That's great for when one arm gets tired!

So, as for clarinet playing, I can't see how anybody would care what handed
you are when it comes to playing it. They don't make left-handed clarinets
for people to play and get used to doing "goofy" (as the snow boarders would
call it). We just don't notice! Both sets of fingers do an awful lot of
work.

In conclusion, Lefties are better, since we can do more stuff either
handed. Righties are stuck. Besides, Lefties are the only ones in their
Right minds!
