I'm not sure this would help, for two reasons. First, the problem is with
the top of the instrument moving, not the bottom, since the peg with a good
rubber foot takes care of that. Second, this horn has the Eb pad on the
bell, right near the bend, and I wonder how it would sound vented into a
box. I would also think that this box would be a pain to transport
compared to a peg, which also has the advantage of easy adjustment to suit
differing chair heights.

But I will certainly keep this idea in reserve, and thanks.
