Sorry to disagree, but in MY opinion, there should always be an option for
the less-curved neck. I think Buffet made a mistake in not providing that
option.

I much prefer the 'normal' Selmer style neck (and I know of several fine bass
clarinet players who feel the same way). Incidentall, my bass clarinet
embochure does not resemble in any way my clarinet embochure. I think keeping
them as seperate as possible is a smart thing to do.

But obviously enough people like that turned-up mouthpiece. Buffet decided to
go that way. And on an otherwise excellent instrument too.
