I have run across this problem many times. RH3 is probably the largest hole
on any clt and does present a problem for many chilodren with small hands.
The hole can be partially blocked off temporarily with Blue-tak or some such
without too much detriment to intonation.
My solution, as I have been responsible for clarinet purchase in an education
authority, is to have a number of VITO clarinets for such students. The hole
in this instrument is the smallest I've seen, and it is also a good value
instrument.
