John Wion (NYC Opera orchestra) posted this to the flute list, but I also
thought it might be of interest here. Rose was one of the clarinetists in
this orchestra.

I thought some listers might be interested in an internet site
(http://hector.ucdavis.edu/sdc) where Professor D. Kern Holoman,
University
of California, Davis lists each concert of this famous orchestra from 1828
until 1967 when it became l'Orchestre de Paris. He also lists the members
of
the orchestra and their bios - a great source for info on many famous
French
flutists from Tulou to Debost.
He was kind enough to extract the succession of Principal Flutists which
I am
adding to my list.
