I use a peg and a neckstrap also. I find that for me, a very amount of =
pressure towards me with the rh thumb in the hook suffices to keep the =
instrument in place, assuming (uh-oh!) that I have the instrument more =
or less balanced in the first place. Both hands/fingers are also in very =
light contact with keys/keywork.

Once mechanical problems have been eliminated, then it most likely is a =
reed/mouthpiece/ligature/embouchure problem. Finding the next two =
octaves of notes also kinda takes the worry out of that C.
