Hey Dan, 'had lunch with Don Carroll this afternoon across the street
from Carnegie. Your name came up in conversation. He spoke well of
you, and mentioned having used your edition of the Gran Partitta in
an S.F. performance. At 73, Don looks great. I almost can't believe
he's retiring (Dec.). 47 fruitful years with S.F., and apparently
looking forward to traveling the world with his wife. What a great
life he's had (with plenty left to live)!
