You might investigate David Dzubay's "Orchestra Schmorchestra" - I don't believe it's been published yet, but you can reach Dzubay at Indiana University. Our Youth Symphony premiered it last year. Difficult, but very good piece, with narrator, that demonstrates the different instruments of the orchestra. There's a little bit of percussion choreography, and some theatre bits for the conductor, too. The narration is entertaining, has a sense of humor, and doesn't talk down to the kids. I highly recommend this piece!
