For all those who were wondering how the MTC and USO managed to perform in
the cold, here it is from the horse's mouth. This message is from the

Folks!!

As you know my son, James, co-wrote with Michael Kamen
the "pageant music"..11 mins with MT Choir and Utah SO....
which will come after John Williams music in the opening
ceremony in a few hours time.

It will look and no doubt sound great..except it will not be live..but
will look live!!

Such are the exigencies of modern TV production..you have to
record and mix in a studio, in this case James took the tapes to
EMI Abbey Road Studios to edit and produce, after flying to SLC
and recording the Utah SO and MT choir in SLC as separate tracks,
on top of the rhythm tracks recorded in London three weeks
earlier.<GGG>

So you will see a great mime show by the USO and MTC playing
and singing along to a track, which they actually contributed to,
but produced, edited and mixed by James in London.<G>

Thought a few on FN might be interested in the way things are done.
