(1) I probably only attend a bare handful of live performances a year,
sometimes because of conflicts, and sometimes because I am just too tired
or lazy to go out after a 10-hour workday. (Whatever happened to all those
futurists who were predicting that, by the year 2000, we would all be
working 4 day, 32 hour weeks?) Besides, I have to stay home and practice
SOMETIME!

(2) I probably perform on average around once or twice a month, if you
count a 4-show pit gig as ONE performance. I do two or three shows like
that a year, plus a couple of big bands and community bands. That does
tend to mean a lot of REHEARSALS, though. Right now I have three
rehearsals a week, for three very different groups: Pit orchestra for
"Footloose," a big band, and a community concert band. Gotta be versatile!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
