Hey... I also played there quite a bit. I haven't always been the total
recording geek! :-P

But yes, when I worked in the Eastman Recording Department, I helped out
with recording various ensembles in the theatre ranging from the
Philharmonia to the Rochester Phil to the Eastman Wind Ensemble.

I wish I was in Rochester for the celebration, but alas, a lack of work
lately (and a couple gigs now) are keeping me from showing up. One thing
that everybody may find interesting is that every other year, the Wind
Ensemble that tours to Japan. Each tour group has done a commercial
recording session that has never been released-- Until now. Warner Bros. is
releasing a multi-CD set of ESM recordings from the various touring
ensembles. I toured in '96 and that ensemble was far and away the best
performing ensemble of *any* type that I have ever had the pleasure to play
with. It was an experience unlike any other. I can't wait to get a copy of
this set when it finally makes its way out west to the CD stores.
