Hello,

I am new to this list.

I have a question for anyone.

I have been practicing the clarinet since Jan. 2 and havn't played since
1973, after taking taking lessons for 10 years!! The old Buffet R13 is
still a great instrument.

I have been doing long tones and scales and have pulled out the old Rubank
Books and others to start working on fingering technic. Lips muscles are
getting good and I am up to a 3.5 Mitchell Lurie reed. Can't do the old
Mozart Clarinet Concerto in A, like in 1973, but working on it! LOL! Maybe
in a couple of years! Just saw Loren Kitt from the National Symphony play
that last month in Rockville, MD.

However, I am having the last joint of the two lower fingers, that work the
lowest tone hole and the 4 keys below that hole, going stiff and wont flex
at times. Will that disappear in time, with practice? Any suggestion on
how to work on that?

Thanks for any responses,

Mike Marmer
Germantown, MD
