Does anyone out there know the origin of the simple little theme Meister
uses in his "Erwinn" Fantasy? In the liner notes to the Kosei Wind
Orchestra/Dangain recording of this, they make some assumption that Erwinn
was Meister's daughter's name; I don't know how they arrived at that.

Based on the spelling, could be an old Irish tune (later transliterated as
"Irwin"), though it could just as easily have been written by Haydn in the
1700's; it is that simple and tonal of a tune. I have info on Meister (who
was French, by the way; this could also be a traditional French folk song),
but am really having a tough time locating the origin of the main theme.
Sort of important for some research I'm doing. Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks,

Chuck
