The discussion wasn't about the cost of a Clarinet lesson - it was about
them busting on our profession!
I actually did the "official" survey on Clarinet lesson costs back in 1999
if I recall.
Hey Mark - what page is my survey on? (right now am only on a 28K connection
and don't feel like fishing for it right now :)

Hello List,
Actually, the Mastercard commercial was not as far off base as it may seem.
When I was in high school, my private teacher charged $20 for a half hour or
$30 for 45 minutes, which usually ran over to an hour, and he was widely
regarded as the best teacher in the state of Maryland. He studied with
Gigliotti and played in the US Navy Band for a while before becoming a
widely respected teacher with a very large, very talented studio. So, for
whatever it's worth, there it is.
