I bought a set of musician's earplugs (the 15 db version) from
Kaiser about a year ago, after reading the posts from Benjamin
Maas and others in the archives. I don't like to use them when
I'm playing--I don't feel I can hear myself as well despite the
manufacturer's claims--but I use them anyway when the sound behind
me is uncomfortably loud. They were very handy at a recent concert
of mine when the brass players behind me were playing Copland's
"Fanfare for the Common Man."

I've even worn the earplugs in particularly loud movies, which
is a sad commentary on what movie theaters are doing to our ears.
