Don't American companies get a tax break for their giving? If it were not
for this fact, I can't imagine why American Mega-corps would have given even
a penny-perhaps to propagandize the public or their own employees. The
'bottom line' is all that counts for corporate America. In fact, by law a
corporation's first responsibility is to what is best for the shareholders,
i.e., make money.

Even if some of these foreign car manufacturers did a little better last
year, most of them have been doing very poorly over the past several years.

listing regarding Ford and GM's contributions to the
relief and recovery efforts in New York and

Daimler Chrysler- ($10 million)
is not a U.S. company (head office Stuttgart-Germany) and gave 5 times more
than Ford and GM together.

Volkswagen=$2 million
(Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen are the same company from
Ingolstatdt-Wolfsburg/Germany)
