Today I opened a brandnew box of Marca 3 1/2 reeds for my bass clarinet.
Never used these before, so it is just a try. The astonishing is, the reed i
took from the box was stamped "Queen 4". Upon inspection two more reeds
were stamped "Queen 4". Is Queen a brand of Marca or is something else
wrong? According to Paolo de Gaspari, a professional bass clarinet player
from Italy and a friend of mine, Marca is a small company consisting of only
four persons: the owner, his wife and two sons. I will meet Paolo again this
week, as he will take his final examination (bass clarinet) with the
conservatory of Rotterdam, I will ask him, but maybe in the mean time
someone else can shed light on this strange phenomenon? Çause as far as I
know, Queen and Marca are independent.

BTW: it is a very fine reed, much better than all Vandoren bass cl. and
tenor saxophone reeds I ever used.
