Elise had said, <<How cool to play the Stravinsky. I think you are right to
do it because the opportunity came up. This piece is great and not heard
enough. Somewhere I have a recording, but can't remember who's on it.>>

The recording I have is Richard Stoltzman (Cl), Lucy Stoltzman (Vln) and
Richard Goode (Pno). Richard Stoltzman really gets me. Sometimes I LOVE
what he does with certain pieces...and then others...BLAH! Interesting
player. GREAT artist.

The Montbrun is not turning out to be the bear I thought it might be. It
seems to be responding well to practice. I'm glad, because my teaching
load, along with my student load, is really putting pressure on me. Tonight
I spent about two hours going over an old video-tape of my Field Experience
music ed. majors. Man...I remember THOSE days. Poor guyz and galz. I'm
going to rest for the remainder of the evening and hit the History class
website and stuff tomorrow. Still have to grade the 110+ quizzes for that
class by Tuesday. Sigh...I need a workstudy! Lay on top of that that I have
to "song and dance" them to keep them awake for the period since my
multi-media is not quite up to par in the room we had to move to.

Thanks for your response about the Tartini. Technically, sight-readable.
Musically, lotso potential and just plain nice for the audience. I hope it
pleases them since it is the first piece on the recital.

Talk with ya later.

Robert
