When I check the serial number on the lists I get a year of manufacturer of
1976. My grandfather bought this clarinet later in his life and only played
on it for about 5 years before he gave it to me. It has served me well. I
just started playing again last year after a 10 year break. Not sure why I
ever quit.

Your GRANDFATHER played this horn? My family bought # 72445 NEW in
1963. I must be getting REALLY old!
