I was really intrigued with the orange peel solution for improving humidity
levels.

On the other hand i would like to share some of my probs with you. Since i
live in Malta (a small island in the med.) we have lots of humidity all year
round. Apart from that we have lots of temperature changes which really
makes one want to play the whistle instead of the clarinet.

In winter temperature reaches 2-5C and humidity can be some 85-90%. On the
other hand in the summer months we get 40-45C and humidity can be 70-75% at
times.

In the cold months it's very difficult to play because one gets water all
the time in the instrument and reeds just clog at times. In summer one does
not even dare to tune the instrument...

Apart from that out homes are not equipped with central heatings. So during
winter all gas heaters would be on to try to keep rooms warm and together
with de-humidifiers to lower the humidity levels. At times this eases the
problem at home but don't mention the halls!

Any suggestions would be appreciated...
