You`re right of course David, It was insensitive of me to phrase my enquiry
in that way. I do apologise. My initial reaction to your telling me that the
band you are performing with soon could perhaps not be quite as competent as
the Robert Spring band was the reason which swayed me to the R.S. recording.
May I assure you that I have no preferences at all in my views of which
clarinettist I might have been seen to be favouring - I have not heard
Spring play or yourself. My main desire is to hear what the concerto sounds
like. If in fact you are pleased with the outcome of your recital, I will
not hesitate to come to you to purchase and hear the recording of this
concerto. I will hold fire on the Spring, until you (hopefully) give the
list a resume of how it went, and whether there may be C.D`s to purchase.
I sincerely wish you and the band every success. I`m confident that it will
be.
