Subj: [kl] Advice Retrieved, Pondered and Assimilated...Thanx
Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2002 17:00:13 -0500

Well thank you all that sent in advice and anecdotes. I sincerely
appreciate the thoughts and humor. They have all helped...even just seeing
a response helped. ;-)

I sure am glad Tony W. chimed in because when someone else said I should be
honest I was preparing myself to give my own personal layout of the periodic
table when they asked if I used illegal drugs. ;-) Of course, I'm kidding!
(Just in case Colonel Foley, sir, is watching. <looking around cautiously>)

Well I am fit, physically and mentally. Of course, that can be subjective
can it not? I mean, I just finished teach my "Pre-Music History" Intro
class, the majority of which are college music majors, and they thought they
understood what the time signature really tells us. LOL! Seriously though,
I studied and trained in martial arts (Chinese Kung-Fu <Wing Chun> and Tae
Kwon Do) for some 14 years. I was the continuing ed. teacher in the self
defense for women during my undergrad. The only thing really out of shape
these days is on the inside...my aerobic capacity is not what it used to be.

I think it is good advice to be nice to the others. I agree also that
experience has shown me that if I approach the other people as people, and
not "the enemy", I feel less threatened by them and can focus on me. I
guess the biggest element of nervousness that I have really is ME. My
ADD...will I zone out or stay focused. If I stayed focused, I really do
believe that I can win the position, losing only to subjectivity.

Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. I will take it with me an report back
to you on Saturday or Sunday. Though I'm not sure what I really believe, I
would appreciate your prayers that I do my best.

Robert
