The fact that speculation is still as active as it is just goes to prove
how important and popular Miller was, and still IS. The mystery of his
death, like that of Amelia Earhart, makes it even more interesting. You
still have to look at what is most likely, however, and icing is the number
one probability. The bomb thing would have been a most tragic but
incredible coincidence which cannot be proved, or at least not until they
find the wreckage, unlikely after all these years.

I play in a local big band which does several Miller charts. When we do
"Moonlight Serenade" and "American Patrol," I play the clarinet lead. It's
not the real thing, but as close as I will get, and it IS great! My mother
was a Miller fan back back in the day, and I discovered her old records in
the closet when I was a child. I've been hooked on swing ever since!
